Hispanic Heritage Month D.A.D Team Applications

Hispanic Heritage Month at UF is a month-long celebration held every year in the Fall showcasing Latinx traditions and appreciation for culture! This is a great opportunity for students wanting to practice skills in event planning, graphics, marketing, networking with businesses and philanthropy. We are currently seeking students to apply to the Hispanic Heritage Month Director and Assistant Director positions. Applications are due Feb 7 at 11:59pm. All majors and talents are welcome! Volunteer with GRACE Grows

In partnership with the University of Florida Doctor of Plant Medicine Program, we conduct a vocational training program for individuals to learn about horticulture and gain job skills. Participants of the program have the opportunity to become Certified Horticulture Professionals after completing the course. For individuals that have experienced trauma, spending time in the garden also promotes mental and physical health. Volunteer gardeners and GRACE Marketplace guests work together to grow fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs to be prepared in the GRACE Marketplace Café 131 where individuals experiencing homelessness may come to enjoy nutritious food produced with tender love and care.

We gladly welcome all students, staff, or faculty interested in volunteering, but are especially looking for:

  • Board Members
  • Photographer
  • Social Media/Community Engagement/Marketing
  • Gardeners (no experience necessary!)

Networking with Non-Profits & More

The Brown Center for Leadership and Service is hosting an event called Networking with Nonprofits and More.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 17 in the Reitz Union. Check-in will occur outside of Reitz Meeting Room 2355.

This event will have up to 60 community partners who are ready to give students volunteer and/or internship opportunities. Each community partner will have their own round table with chairs so students can take their time talking one-on-one with them. The community partners will be representing a wide range of social justice causes, from youth development, health care, poverty and homelessness, environmental rights, and women’s empowerment.

Summer Student Assistant Position – Heavener School of Business

The Heavener School of Business is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual who is personable, works well with others, demonstrates initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision. You must be able to comprehend and follow academic policies and regulations set forth by the University of Florida and Heavener School of Business. General computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. Preferred applicant will have strong customer service skills on the phone and in person.

The position is an 8-15 hours per week commitment.
