Current Issues Series: Let’s Talk About…Policing
Join the BCLS November 9th, 1:30PM
In the wake of protests and increased dialogue around racial equity, many have been grappling with questions of policing in our local community and on a national level. This Let’s Talk About program, hosted by The Brown Center for Leadership and Service will feature an engaging and interactive discussion between national experts and UF students on the role of policing.
Panelists include experts from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Yale University, and the City of Gainesville. The panel will discuss a range of issues including the role of police, the meaning and implications of defund the police, discussion around excessive force, and future actions that can be taken. Fall UF Campus Beautification
In co-sponsorship with UF Facilities Services, the BCLS will be hosting Fall UF Campus Beautification events each and every Friday! Each on-campus service event will be led in person by a BCLS Ambassador and take place at the University Gardens. This is a great opportunity to meet peers safely beyond the screen, is an opportunity to connect with nature and de-stress, and most of is an opportunity to impact and contribute to the Gator Good.

LeaderShape- Resilience Modules

As you respond to the pressures of the semester and the stresses that come with it, we must take the time to consider our Resilience and how it benefits you and the people around you. The Resilience Modules consist of three one-hour modules that build on each other to help participants actualize their true potential. Module are available until December 31, 2020.

Aha Pure Foods is a Gainesville based vegan soup company with the goal to inspire and educate people about the healing powers of whole, plant-based foods. We currently have a remote internship position open for the Summer, and are looking for someone who has strong written skills and would be interested in writing blog posts and newsletters. More details about the internship position and the company are included, here, in the application.
The goal of this program is to educate and inspire a new generation of theatre management professionals. The curriculum features content-driven courses that emphasize the skill sets necessary for a career in North American Theatre.
The program promotes study of commercial and not-for-profit theatre with an emphasis on the collaboration between the two business models. The experiential curriculum features a unique blend of classroom study, field excursions, a professional internship, and a New York Theatre Management Intensive. Majors are supervised by a faculty consisting of leading New York City-based theatre professionals and engage in multiple master classes taught by innovators from the Broadway, commercial, and not-for-profit professional theatre communities.

- General academic scholarships for all undergraduate business majors (includes UF online program)
- Study abroad scholarships for those participating in our study abroad programs (all majors including accounting students are eligible)

Game Day Ambassadors play a vital role in the success of the fan experience at Gators athletic events, and serve as representatives of both the University of Florida and Florida Gators. They maintain the operational policies in place for all Gators athletic events, and serve as liaisons between Gator Boosters, fans, game day staff, and Athletic Department Personnel. As Gator Guest Services-Game Day Ambassadors, you will be the face of the Florida Gators throughout each of our home athletic events. You will be answering fan questions, finding solutions to fan problems, and making all fans feel both welcome and comfortable during athletic events. Game Day Ambassadors get the added bonus of earning paid experience in behind-the-scenes game-day execution, or using the opportunity for their field experience or practicum fulfillment.
Gator Guest Services Game Day Ambassadors are required to work all 2020 Florida home football games.

A typical football game day runs 7 to 9 hours for Ambassadors, who are required to arrive at the Stadium no later than 3.5 hours before kickoff. Please understand this position is not an opportunity to watch the game. Ambassador responsibilities require a high level of service and attentiveness. A dedicated and focused staff is essential to the success of the fan experience.
There are other staffing opportunities as a Gator Guest Services Ambassador at Soccer, Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball throughout the fall semester. Applicants are required to work 1-2 additional events per month outside of football.
Our top Gator Guest Services Ambassadors will have the opportunity to return for the spring semester to assist with Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, Softball, and Lacrosse.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
You must be at least 18 years of age. Those with flexible work schedules and the ability to work a non-standard work week to include evenings and weekends will be given priority.
Applicants must be able to work ALL football games and at least two (2) additional sporting events a month throughout the fall.
The ability to stand for long periods of time and regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds is required.
This is a part-time position that is compensated at the current minimum wage, $8.56 per hour. There are no benefits associated with this position.
Once an official offer is extended and accepted, the candidate will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9. The candidate will also be required to present acceptable and original documents to prove identity and authorization to work in the United States. The University Athletic Association, Inc. is an at-will employer, a separate company from the University of Florida and not a state employer.
