Public Utility Research Center (PURC) introduces Project Navigate, an in-depth exploration into the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) and Digital Services Act (DSA). This initiative aims to dissect the broad implications of these regulations for the digital market, emphasizing their impact on innovation, competition, and consumer rights. By blending academic inquiry with practical analysis, the project aspires to illuminate the nuances of digital policy and its global repercussions. Our research navigates the impacts of the EU’s new regulations for the digital economic, their impacts, and businesses’ strategic responses. Engaging a multidisciplinary team, Project Navigate seeks to foster a comprehensive understanding of the Digital Market Act and Digital Services Acts’ effects on digital ecosystems and economic strategies. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Mark Jamison is the Director and Gerald Gunter Professor of the Public Utility Research Center (PURC), and Director of the Digital Markets Initiative (DMI) at the University of Florida. He provides research and International training and research on business and government policy, focusing primarily on information technology and utilities industries.

Dr. Jamison is also a Research Associate with the UF, Center for Public Policy Research, and is a Non-resident Senior Fellow with the American Enterprise Institute. Dr. Jamison served on the U.S. Presidential Transition Team in 2015-2016, focusing on the Federal Communications Commission. He is the former Associate Director of Business and Economic Studies for the UF Center for International Business Education and Research, and has served as Special Academic Advisor to the Chair of the Florida Governor’s Internet Task Force, and President of the Transportation and Public Utilities Group.
