Every year, the Heavener International Case Team hosts over 15 Business schools from all over the world to compete in the Heavener International Case Competition. Due to the unique circumstances of 2020 and 2021, we have decided to open the competition this year exclusively to Heavener students. For the first time, we are excited to give our business students the chance to compete in a consulting case competition right here in Gainesville. The Heavener International Case Competition will be held in-person on April 10th, 2021 in Heavener Hall. All current undergraduate students are invited to compete in teams of 3-4. Each team will designate a Team Captain, who will serve as the liaison to the Organizing Committee.

Each team will be assigned a 25-minute window in which they will have 15 minutes to provide their strategic recommendations immediately followed by a 10-minute question and answer period to a panel of judges. Teams will be required to attend a rules & procedures meeting the week leading up on Tuesday, April 6th at 9:00AM via Zoom. Case Competitions provide an extraordinary opportunity for business students to apply professional and communication skills to solving real-world, complex issues firms today are looking to solve. Please note if you intend to enroll in the case class, this will serve as your tryout.

The Stephen C. O’Connell Center is a multi-purpose arena and student activity center whose mission is to serve as an academic, athletic, recreational and entertainment facility. In addition, we strive to provide superior service to guests and clients, and training for future leaders. In support of its mission, the O’Connell Center hosts five interns each semester, each with a different focus. Do you have an innovative idea for a business? Make it a reality by registering for the annual Big Idea Gator Business Plan Competition!
The Big Idea Gator Business Plan Competition was created to help students grow their business ideas. Students will develop their business plan over the spring semester and submit their plan for a chance to pitch to judges and win over $40,000 in prizes. The EIC provides mentorship and the opportunity to audit the Business Plan Lab for free among other resources to help you along the way.
The dates for this year’s semi-final and final rounds will be April 22-23, 2021. Please note that the event will be virtual this year. Big Idea is open to ALL students, on-campus and online, graduate and undergraduate.

The 2020 Women’s Entrepreneurship Summit, presented by the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center at the UF Warrington College of Business and the UF Collaboratory for Women Innovators at UF Innovate, offers inspirational stories and lessons learned from successful women entrepreneurs. The event provides opportunities for UF women to connect with peers and other successful business leaders to foster shared learning and community-building, as well as networking, mentoring, start-up and career advice, and career connections.
