As we close out the spring semester of a historic academic year, I want to take a moment to congratulate and thank you for your efforts during a time that has caused stress beyond what you may normally feel while working to complete your degree.
The lingering challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic compounded by the racial and systematic inequity and inequality faced by Black people as well as hate crimes against those in the Asian community have only added to the struggles you face as a student. I know that beyond your rigorous academic course load many of you also are dealing with the stressors of internship and job searching while maintaining your family and social commitments.
Like President Fuchs, I want to acknowledge this intensified struggle and reaffirm to you that the Warrington community is here to support you. We have resources available to students through the Counseling and Wellness Center and to faculty and staff through the UF Employee Assistance Program.
Congratulations on completing this semester. We are in awe of your resilience.
