WW Peer Leader Application Process – Summer B 2019 Positions

Peer Leaders co-teach Warrington Welcome (Intro to Business) and assist students by serving as a peer advisor, role model, and a representative of the Warrington College of Business.  Through formal training and hands-on experience, peer leaders develop critical skills (organization, public speaking, creativity, adaptability, etc.) that are highly valued by employers and graduate schools.

 Peer Leader Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and a commitment to helping new students:

    • Successfully transition into Warrington and UF

    • Develop a plan to make the most of their undergraduate career

  • Serve as a role model of the college and maintain a non-biased representation of the university

  • Maintain a positive and professional personal brand through words, actions, and social media

  • Collaborate with your Staff Instructor in all aspects of course planning and execution, exhibiting responsibility, dependability, and timeliness

  • Prepare and present well-organized presentations, discussions, and activities on course topics

  • Be accessible to and build a strong rapport with your students in and outside of class including one-on-one meetings

  • Communicate accurate and timely information to students and your Staff Instructor, check and respond to their emails on a daily basis

  • Attend all classes and complete all assignments in the Warrington Welcome Peer Leader Training Course

  • Attend all of the other Peer Leader required events (listed below) including the Peer Leader Retreat, Monthly forums, Networking and Matching Events, Annual WW Training, Heavener Convocation

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0


  • Undergraduate student in the Warrington College of Business

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

  • Completed or currently enrolled in Warrington Welcome (GEB 2015: Intro to Business)

Required Events and Dates:

In addition to responsibilities associated with teaching, Peer Leaders must attend and actively participate in the following:

  • Warrington Welcome Forum: Monday, October 29th from 5-6pm

  • Peer Leader Retreat: November 9, 2018 (time TBD)

  • Warrington Welcome Forum: Monday, December 3rd from 5-6pm

  • Successfully complete the Spring 2019 Training Course (Wednesdays Periods 3-4: 9:35am-11: 30 am)

  • Warrington Welcome Forum: Monday, January 14th from 5-6pm

  • Staff Instructor & Peer Leader Matching Breakfast (TBD – January 2019)
  • Warrington Welcome Forum: Monday, February 18th from 5-6pm

  • Warrington Welcome Forum: Monday, March 18th from 5-6pm

  • Warrington Welcome Forum: Monday, April 15th from 5-6pm

  • Freshman Business Leadership Symposium: Saturday, February 9th from 8:00am-2: 00 pm

  • Annual WW Training (TBD – Spring 2019)


Peer Leader Recruitment Dates

  • Peer Leader Meet and Greet Information Session: Wednesday, September 19th at 6:30 pm in Heavener 230

  • Online Application is Due: Monday, October 8th by 11:59 pm

  • One-on-one Interviews: Tuesday, October 23rd and Wednesday, October 24th

  • Group Interview: Thursday, October 25th from 6:00-8: 00 pm

  • Final Decisions Released: Friday, October 26th

3. Recommendation form from your WW Instructor or Peer Leader

  • This must be your WW Instructor or Peer Leader if you are a freshman. If you are a sophomore or junior involved in HLC, Enactus, FLA, LDP, BUMP, or BEA, your CLP or Program Advisor may submit this recommendation for you.
  • You will need to send the recommendation form to your recommender. The form is due on October 8th at 11:59 pm.


Individuals selected to advance to the second round will be invited to an individual interview and a group interview. All candidates are encouraged to attend our Meet and Greet event on September 19th in Heavener 230 at 6:30 pm to learn more.
