WW Peer Leader Application Process – Summer B 2018 Positions

Peer Leaders co-teach Warrington Welcome (Intro to Business) and assist students by serving as a peer advisor, role model, and a representative of the Warrington College of Business.  Through formal training and hands-on experience, peer leaders develop critical skills (organization, public speaking, creativity, adaptability, etc.) that are highly valued by employers and graduate schools.

 Peer Leader Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and a commitment to helping new students:
    • – Successfully transition into Warrington and UF
    • – Develop a plan to make the most of their undergraduate career
  • Serve as a role model of the college and maintain non-biased representation of the university
  • Maintain a positive and professional personal brand through words, actions, and social media
  • Collaborate with your Staff Instructor in all aspects of course planning and execution, exhibiting responsibility, dependability, and timeliness
  • Prepare and present well-organized presentations, discussions, and activities on course topics
  • Be accessible to and build strong rapport with your students in and outside of class including one-on-one meetings
  • Communicate accurate and timely information to students and your Staff Instructor, check and respond to their emails on a daily basis
  • Attend all classes and complete all assignments in the Warrington Welcome Peer Leader Training Course
  • Attend all of the other Peer Leader required events (listed below) including the Peer Leader Retreat, Monthly forums, Networking and Matching Events, Annual WW Training, Heavener Convocation
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0



  • Undergraduate student in the Warrington College of Business
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Completed or currently enrolled in Warrington Welcome (GEB 2015: Intro to Business)



In addition to responsibilities associated with teaching, Peer Leaders must attend and actively participate in the following:

  • Peer Leader Retreat
  • Monthly forums on Monday evenings
  •      Human Library
  • Networking and matching events
  • Annual WW Training
  • Spring 2018 –  Complete the Peer Leader Training Course (GEB 4932)
  • Heavener Convocation

Required Events and Dates:

  • Monday, December 4, 5:00pm – Monthly Forum

Successfully complete the Spring 2018 Training Course (Mondays Periods 3-4: 9:35am-11:30am)

  • Monday, January 22, 5:00pm – Monthly Forum
  •      Thursday, January 25, 8:30am– Matching Breakfast
  •      Saturday, February 10, 8:00am-2:00pm – Symposium
  •      Monday, February 26, 5:00pm – Monthly Forum
  • Friday, March 16, 8:30am-12:00pm – Annual WW Training
  • Monday, March 26, 5:00pm – Monthly Forum
  • Monday, April 16, 5:00pm – Monthly Forum
  • August 2018 TBA – Convocation

  Peer Leader Recruitment Dates

  • Online Application is Due: Sunday, November 26 by 12:00 noon
  • On-on-one Interviews: Friday, December 1
